Initial Reflection from Xwan

With 2022 closing the gap on us in this second half of 2021, Good God Father completed their third run with the eXtreme Tour completing a 25 day stint. Starting in Bingen, WA at Daubenspeck park, and winding up in Klamath Falls at the end, it was nearly impossible to tell we were in a pandemic, but for the sporadic instances of mask wearing, here and there from town to town. One thing that was consistent, no matter where we went, is that we were sure to find people who appreciated that we were there. The gratitude oozed out of many who saw what we were doing just as essential as any service personnel.

There was hardly a person to be found who was in any confounded, angry or outraged. On the contrary, at the very least, the moost common reactions were of those struck with wonder and curiosity as to what we were doing or why we were there. These responses are what satiated my own curiosity, as my observing mind processed the powers in which mercies I had placed myself. Speculation surrounded the likelihood of whether or not the resources or provisions would be there for only the first two week period invitation. As the agreement took place which confirmed the placement of Good God Father on the dates from Bingen to Monmouth, on the 14th, not more than a couple of weeks before the first date, would I receive a phone call from Jonathan Gold, front man for Gr8Frt, asking if I wouldn’t mind filling in on the drums for another band on the tour called, Plushie.

Of course I agreed, and it had been understood in passing that Plushie would be staying on the road 10 days longer, but things were up in the air as to whether it would pan out that I would be staying to continue in that role. It was resolved, eventually, that I would commit to the stops which would amount to fulfilling the completion of the scheduled stops. Apparently the Spirit was with us, as when we brought our request before our community, people stepped up for the chance to support our mission, through their prayers and donations. We managed to fund the entirety of the gas, food and ammenities, plus enough left over to perform vehicle maintenance, as well as offer some memorial tokens to people who we engaged with at our events. There’s a few kids in Monmouth who certainly made out like bandates with a few of our necklaces. My immeasurable gratitude goes out to everyone who supported whether in purse, or in prayer. Every bit was unquenched with goodness.

We’ll save you the juicier anecdotes for further blog posts. For now, just keep your thumb on this page in the coming weeks. Maybe add it to your bookmarks, as we embark on this web journal special media presentation of the Good God Father eXtreme Tour blog series, hosted on goodgodfather.co. Starting today, GGF will share another post each Wednesday, from Xwan, featuring media images and video captured at each visitation to bring you in to the powerful experience of the eXtreme Tour, which as its name suggests, is really far more than a tour. It is a thoroughly immersive window in to a world that we all have heard about, but rarely ever see. A world where miracles happen. Where hearts are mended. Where justice flows like a river watering the valleys of dry bones. Where relationships are restored, and where hope abounds for an ageless age of possibility, and opportunity. It isn’t even about the Tour, for me. Really, it’s about that world. And the tour is a small stool for we of little faith to stand on, for the chance at peering through that glass to see in to the future. Truly, the future that we all are destined for.

With patience of the eons, we sojourn on, to catch as many glances as we can through this dim window, past our own reflections, and in to the glorious light that awaits us.

From the One Who Lives, be Whole, Beloved.
